"ash, ash - you poke and stir"

Diane Victor, a South African artist, did a number of portraits over a couple of years of people in South Africa with HIV/AIDS. All of the portraits are literally done in smoke. She collects smoke on the paper, and then uses a fine eraser to create her portraits. They're some of the most amazing works I've ever seen.
